  • 10 g fast action yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 160 ml unsweetened non-dairy milk
  • 160 ml water
  • 75 g raw cashews
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 ½ teaspoons tapioca starch
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon cider vinegar
  • 160 ml water for dip
  • 85 g vegan butter/spread
  • 4 cloves garlic (peeled and crushed)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 heaped teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, sugar, olive oil, non-dairy milk, and water until a rough dough forms. Knead for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  2. Let the dough rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (1–2 hours).
  3. While rising, soak cashews in boiling water and blend with garlic and other dip ingredients until smooth.
  4. Preheat oven to 210°C (425°F). Punch down the dough and shape into small balls.
  5. Arrange on a baking sheet and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm with cashew dip.
