  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup melted vegan butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other dairy-free milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1 cup vegan chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C/350F and line an 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, cream melted vegan butter with sugar until fluffy. Stir in almond milk and vanilla.
  4. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined; add chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out mostly clean.
  7. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
