  • ¼ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ⅔ cup pumpkin puree (blotted)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (for icing)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves (for icing)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (for icing)
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugars using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, maple syrup, and blotted pumpkin puree; mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in half of the chopped pecans.
  7. Use a cookie scoop to form dough balls and place them on a baking sheet.
