  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup kimchi
  • 1 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  2. Marinate the flank steak in a resealable bag with the marinade for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
  3. Rinse uncooked rice and cook according to package instructions.
  4. Heat a grill pan or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated steak for 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked to your liking.
